William Maynard (18th March 1853 - 2nd September 1921) was an international footballer who represented England 2 times scoring 0 goals. His first cap was against Scotland on 30th November 1872 at 19 years old, and his last was vs Scotland on 4th March 1876 aged 22. Maynard, born on 18th March 1853, in Camberwell, London, has a FA Legacy Number of 5 and played as a Forward for his country.

Normally a forward but in the very first international went between the sticks for Barker at half time because Alex Morten was unavailable for the match. Played as a winger in his only other match 3 years later. He became the District Registrar for Durham in 1903 until his death.
