Robert Barker (19th June 1847 - 11th November 1915) was an international footballer who represented England 1 time scoring 0 goals. His only cap was against Scotland on 30th November 1872 at the age of 25. Barker, born on 19th June 1847, in Wouldham, Kent, has a FA Legacy Number of 1 and played as a Goalkeeper for his country.

Normally a forward, but because Alex Morten was unavailable for the first international match, Barker started between the sticks for the first half until swapping places with Maynard at half time. Perhaps his size, and maybe his rugby background of handling the ball, made him the next best choice for goalkeeper.
His father was Rector of Wouldham in Kent and then vicar of Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire. Robert turned out for the Hertfordshire Rangers as well as Wanderers. A civil engineer on the railways by profession.
