Switzerland opened their international account with a 1-0 loss to France in Paris in 1905.
They first met England in Berne in 1933 and suffered a 4-0 defeat. Since then they have only managed one competitive win against The Three Lions which was in the 1982 World Cup qualifiers. A 2-1 win in Basle.
This was nearly eclipsed in a Euro 2012 qualifier at Wembley in June 2011 when they took a 2-0 lead. The game ended 2-2. They met again on the road to Euro 2016 in France but England won 2-0 in both fixtures.
