- An FA Cup winner twice with Wanderers in 1877 and 1878. Whilst at Cambridge he won some notable academic awards such as the Porson Prize three times, the Powis medal twice and the 1st chancellor's medal. He was called to the bar at Inner Temple in November 1879 and became the foremost expert on Bankruptcy Law. He also played for Clapham Rovers and Shropshire Wanderers.
