Harry started his career at Northwich Victoria before moving to Liverpool in 1893. There he helped them gain promotion to the first division - twice. During this time he became the first Liverpool player to be capped for England. He moved south to Tottenham Hotspur in May 1898 but only stayed one season before becoming captain of the new Thames Ironworks team - a team which would eventually become West Ham United. Sadly, he contracted tuberculosis soon afterwards and died on Christmas Day 1899 at the age of 26.
