Notes

  • Player InjuriesTrevor Cherry fell awkwardly leaping for the ball against Dwyer in the 15th minute (14:15) and suffered a broken collarbone. England didn't have a defender on the bench so Currie replaced him with Wilkins dropping to right back and Mills to left back. Then after only half an hour Latchford pulled a calf muscle and was replaced by Mariner. At the same time Yorath too goes down after a tackle with Coppell on the edge of the England box (31:52). He struggles on for the remainder of the half but is replaced at half time by Mahoney.
