Malaysia's first international wasn't until 1953, a 3-2 loss to South Korea. Since then they have not qualified for any World Cups and have only qualified for three Asian Cups, one as hosts.
England beat Malaysia 4-2 in Kuala Lumpur at the end of a tour of Australia and New Zealand in June 1991. Gary Lineker scored all four goals.
