      England Starting Formation

        Asymmetric 4-4-2 Merson lined up in a wide left midfield position. When Daley came on England moved to a classic 4-4-2 with Daley to right midfield and Steven to right back. When Webb came on, Daley switched to left midfield with Webb in the centre reverting to the asymmetric 4-4-2 again.
