The Macedonian Football Association was originally founded in 1926 in Skopje. As part of the Yugoslavian federal team it didn't play its first independent international match until 1993 beating Slovenia 4-1. They have not qualified for any major tournaments.
They did give England a scare in their first encounter when they managed to take the lead twice before it ended 2-2.
