Notes
QualificationEngland qualify for the next round with a 100% record. To date this is the only occurence of winning all group games at a World Cup.
Mariner Yellow CardThe Colombian referee had an annoying habit of getting in the way of play. Prior to branishing the yellow card to Mariner, he had been in the way of play on three further occasions in the first half and later blocked a Hoddle shot in the second. Mariner was off the ball, ahead of play, when he found Aristizábal wandering in front of him when he was ready to receive a pass from Rix, so he gave him a gentle shove out of the way. The referee booked Mariner.
