- Brother of Herbert Rawson, Wiliam schooled at Westminster before going up to Oxford with whom he won the FA Cup in 1874 against his brother! He also refereed the 1876 final and was runner-up in the 1877 final, again with Oxford University. He served on the FA Committee from 1876-77 and in 1879. Professionally, he was a schoolmaster and later worked in the family electrical engineering buisness.
